Frequently Asked Questions

What are your terms and payment options?
Our terms are net 30 days. New customers will need to complete a credit application at the time of their first order. We accept MasterCard, American Express and Visa, as well as checks and wire transfers.
Do you drop ship?
Yes, we can drop ship to multiple locations. There is a $5.00 charge for any address after the initial ship-to address. Also, there is a $3.00 handling and fulfillment charge per box.
How much is shipping?
For orders that are not a rush, we usually ship via UPS Ground. We can provide a specific quote once your order is in process.
What is the best way to clean an acrylic or crystal item?
It is best to use a mild detergent in warm water and to dry the piece with a soft cloth.
Is it possible to match acrylic to any color from the Pantone™ chart?
Yes, except for metallic colors. Matching colors is an intricate task, and we cannot always match the intended color exactly. We will match it as closely as possible.
What’s the difference between an acetate and a paper insert?
Acetate is transparent film that produces the illusion that the text is floating within the acrylic piece, while a paper insert is opaque. Acetates are also often called transparencies.
Do the printing colors change after the embedment process?
They can change slightly over time, especially if the piece is exposed to direct sunlight.
How can you match a color for printing?
Pantone is a universal color matching system that tells us what color inks to use. Pantone color numbers may be referenced for desired shades; however, exact matches cannot be guaranteed. For more information on Pantone colors, visit www.pantone.com. We are equipped to match colors by using a sample of the chosen color or its coded reference number from the PMS™ chart.
What is the best way to provide you with personalizations for my awards?
We prefer that names be sent by email in an Excel spreadsheet.
What are the options available for personalizing my memento?
There are many options, including laser-etch, printing on a card or clear acetate, surface-printing, or printing on an embedded or attached metal plate. Metal plates applied to the outside of a deal toy can also be laser-etched.
What do I need to send for artwork?
We accept art in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign formats. For logos, vector (Illustrator) art is preferred. Photoshop files must be at least 300 dpi in resolution to print clearly. If necessary, we can redraw logos at the correct resolution for printing, at an additional cost. Please convert all fonts to outlines, and make sure all art is embedded in the file. Maximum file size is 20MB for emailed art. You may also speak to your Customer Service Representative for specific artwork requirements or for information about how to send larger files.
Do you do rush orders?
We often can, provided we have received all of the necessary final artwork and approvals. There may be additional charges involved. Please contact your Customer Service Representative to discuss your timeline.
What are the standard turnaround times?
Standard turnaround for a basic Lucite is approximately 10-12 working days following client approval of the design, sometimes longer for complex orders. If you have an event or closing dinner, we can often expedite this timeline for your convenience, although there may be additional costs involved.
Is there any risk when embedding precious or rare objects, such as a childhood souvenir, a family heirloom, or a Super Bowl ticket?
Since the results can be unpredictable, we do not encourage clients to proceed this way, nor can we guarantee that a rare item will not be damaged or destroyed in the Lucite-making process. A clear sandwich frame, which uses magnets or bolts to hold together two layers of acrylic, is recommended for irreplaceable flat items. We can also sometimes reproduce the item to be embedded, which we recommend.
Are the items provided for embedment guaranteed?
No; since your items cannot be guaranteed to stand up to high heat, we replicate them whenever possible. Please see Making Lucites for more information about working with this material.
Can I send you items to be embedded?
Yes, but since Lucite is subjected to high heat during manufacture, not all items can be embedded successfully. We generally do a test embedment before producing the entire order, to make sure the item will embed properly. We recommend that you get in touch with a Customer Service Representative to obtain more details on the best way to proceed.
I don’t see what I’m looking for on your website or product brochure. Are there more options?
The choices are virtually limitless. We are happy to research your deal and provide custom sketches based on your specific theme and vision.
What does a deal gift cost?
Each deal toy is quoted individually, whether it’s a standard shape or custom design, based on size, quantity and complexity. Whether your budget is large or small, we will work with you to provide the best result possible.
Should I start the project without knowing exactly what I want?
Go ahead and contact us so we can get started. We will research your deal and provide creative ideas and options for you.
I have never ordered a closing deal gift before and would like to know the process.
The first step is to contact a Customer Service Representative, who will work with you to define your goals, establish a timeline and discuss design options based on your needs and budget.
